Madras Lane Rice Noodles @ 3rd Mile Square, Old Klang Road



Madras Lane Rice Noodles originated from Jalan Sultan, Chinatown. Since Madras Cinema burnt down in 1979, thet have called it Madras Lane hanging to the memory of Madras Cinema (story told by Wan Siew Yee, the chee cheong fun lady). This hawker stall is famous for their 5 dishes: curry noodles, assam laksa, yong tau foo, chee cheong fun and frying fish paste (aromatic of tamarind, coconut milk and paste).
Chia Ai Lian, 46, who runs her curry noodles business with her sister Me Lim, 65, siad it was thier mother, Choo Sew Ching, who started the family’s curry noodle business 50 years ago. People come here because they want to be reminded of the good old days. Wan who has built a chee cheong fun empire of her own with branches in Taman OUG, Bangsar and SEA Park. Her proudest and latest is the Madras Lane Rice Noodles café at 3rd Mile Square in Jalan Kelang Lama which is run by her daughter Samantha Hoh, 31. They even have a shoplot chee cheong fun factory in Kajang.

Tasted just as good as what you have in Chinatown, but now you can dine in a more comfortable environment and with a reasonable pricing.
