The Front Door Cafe @ Jalan Sultan

Chinatown or better known as Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur has recently become a new cafes hub, there are a few cafe start popping up, like this two already well known by the college students Cafe Amo, Einstein Cafe and now The Front Door. The Front Door is tucked inside a century-old 3-storey building that was formerly Chinese retail traders and now has become Grocer's Inn backpackers' retreat.

Restoran Sang Kee hidden in between Traditional Chinese Medical Institute Malaysia and BP House along Jalan Hang Jebat, it has been around for 50 over years, old timer favourite dining place. There's only a limited parking space inside the Traditional Chinese Medical Institute Malaysia.

Yooi Kee Chee Cheong Fun in China Town @ Petaling Street

One of the most popular eateries in Chinatown, Kim Lian Kee serves good old-fashioned chee cheong fun served in the traditional way with just sweet and spicy sauce and sprinkle of sesame seed. The uniqueness  about this restaurant is that it has a dual role, it's a chee cheong fun stall by day and a Hokkien fried noodle stall by night, with the reputation of "best in town". It is located across the famous air mata kucing stall or Hong Leong Bank.

Old China Kafe @ Petaling Street

The premises of Old China cafe and gallery is actually the old guild hall of the Selangor and Federal Territory Laundry Association. The guild was set up at the turn of the century and moved to this part of Chinatown in the 1920s. Old China Cafe tries to maintain asemblance of the Chinese community’s old social life which will soon fade into history. Old China Cafe serve food that originates from the Baba Nonya communities of Malacca and Penang which features Malay spices as well as Chinese ingredients and cooking techniques.

For the frequent clubbers, Chinatown Seng Kee will sound very familiar to them. This is one of the popular supper hangout for after clubbers. Located along a busy street at Chinatown, Petaling Street. There lies this little restaurant that serves amazing claypot Loh She Fun and famous roast pork noodles.

This Chinatown restaurant is one of Kuala Lumpur's historical landmarks. Housed in an authentic Chinese shop house, the café is locally famous for its Nonya cuisine originating from the Chinese straits community of Melaka and Penang. It also serves Southeast Asian dishes. Once a guildhall, the café's interior walls are decorated with old photos and antiques reflecting the history of the local Chinese community. Menu highlights include the laksa or any of the Nonya curries.

The long service loyal staffs still here, bringing trays of piping hot dim sum and deep fried dim sum around. ...

Every year, without any exceptional, mom and sis will not miss the chance to get some Grilled Meat(daging salai) from Petaling Street. It is well-known that the best Grilled Meat comes from Petaling Street's branch. Besides Grilled Meat, the hawker food at Petaling Street are also something not to be miss. We went to China Town Seng Kee for dinner before we started our window shopping. It is famous with the Claypot Loh Shu Fun(Claypot Noodle) and Siew Yoke Mee (Roasted Pork Noodle). The food were served few minutes after we made our order. It was really fast. The Claypot Loh Shu Fun was really nice. The minced pork was fragrantly good. The gravy goes well with the noodles.
