March Delights at Gin Rik Sha Restaurant & Bar

Everyday Food I Love returns to GinRikSha after a short hiatus! On our last visit, we were impressed by the new ambience of the place as well as their focus on fusion Indian flavors. They also have a super-talented lady behind the bar who makes all these amazing cocktails that have tongues in Bukit Damansara wagging. We therefore came with higher than usual expectations and for me, I am glad to say that it was simply amazing. Readers who would like to know more from our last visit  can read about it at the link  here .

GinRikSha spices up Bukit Damansara’s dining scene

Image
Bursting with life and colour, GinRikSha brings the element of fun to their interpretation of international cuisines at Bukit Damansara. Formerly known as Mr Tush, GinRikSha’s new look and updated menu reflects their desire to provide a more exciting casual dining experience as they start afresh their culinary journey. With a name that is inspired by rickshaws for their presence in Asia and around the world, the founders of GinRikSha aim to experiment with more Asian cuisines in the near future. The focus of the menu now is the flavours of India, but don’t expect a typical traditional meal here. Creativity drives the construction of the menu and one can expect compelling dishes such as Butter Chicken Poutine, a Canadian classic with an Indian twist; Varuval Quesadilla, a South Indian pepper fried mutton and cheese wrapped in a tortilla and Masala Mussels cooked in a broth of coconut milk and spices. The dishes come in generous sharing portions and diners are encouraged to share.

It is like a passing game of football, only with fork, plates and knives and an amazing array of fares.

Garnering praises and greeted with rave reviews from reputable opinions, we are humbled to be invited to what we now know, as-close-as-it-gets, to having L.A styled street food. All in the comfort of a rustic charm that you'd expect from old Mississippi, quite like how you'd imagine all those years from reading the adventures of Mark Twain's arguably most famous character, from which the restaurant share it's namesake.

Hokano Japanese Restaurant @ Damansara Utama

Image
Once in a while, Saucer and I love going to Japanese restaurants because of the relatively healthier food options they provide. I especially love fresh sashimi and anything teriyaki! And oh, soft-shell crab too. So when Jessica invited us to have dinner at Hokano, we happily agreed. The spread of food we had was massive! We shall let the pictures do the talking now, shall we not?
