IMPROV Bistro, For the Renaissance Minded Me

Improv Bistro is a place which will prove very difficult to categorise. Months after my initial visit to the place, and a few subsequent visits later, I am still struggling to describe to you my impressions of the place. It is a place that defies being judged and dares you to comeback again, again and again to savour it's complexity. Let me tell you, in the time I took up writing for this blog, I have been to quite a few posh places in the region on land and sea, and this place did not fail to impress.

The brainchild of Ling Ang, Lucky Peaches promises good quality ingredients and a creative twist to their dishes. Ling Ang’s 18 years’ experience in the F&B industry (including her experience with the group which owns and runs Huckleberry) and passion in this industry clearly shows from the moment you step foot in Lucky Peaches.

Tinat Restaurant located at corner of Streets 154 and Streets 51 (Rue Pasteur) is one good value place to eat. It's about 900meter of walking distance to central Market from Eastland Hotel that I am staying. The restaurant patrons are mainly Khmers and also many of the expats regular place to eat. Their menu serving a variety of vegetarian, seafood, pork, beef and chicken of dishes.

Cambodian food is perhaps the most overlooked of all Asian cuisines. Cambodian emphasised on balance of flavours between salty, sour and sweetness. Khmer food leans towards the sweeter side, from the marinated grilled pork, to the chilli pastes, even iced coffees is noticeable heavy of sweetness. Living in Cambodia give me a chance to learn about their cuisine and cultures.
