Looking for the original Mee Sup Pipin in KK itself used to be a challenge for some KK Lites, as it is located at a village called Inobong. However, as years goes by Mee Sup Pipin has gained its popularity among the locals and successfully opened a few more branches around KK. One of their most latest branch is located at Menggatal Plaza Phase 2, nearby the CKS Hypermarket.

We are here again at Plaza Menggatal to unearth hidden gems of eateries serving delicious food. This place is located just before the Menggatal roundabout as you come from KK via old highway. It is also accessible by Tuaran Bypass, go past the only Pizza Hut and KFC and make a U-turn as you are about to reach a Futsal Centre, signboard of Menggatal Plaza is easy to spot.

There's an awesome selection of delicious food ranging from Chinese delicacies, Malay cuisine, to all time favourite Indian Dishes. A truly melting hotpot of Malaysia culture represented in Food is available here. Where are we talking about? Menggatal Plaza of Course!! A plaza that is just next to Tuaran Highway just before reaching Menggatal Old Town where a huge CKS Hypermarket is located and almost impossible to miss. This up and coming hotspot comes bustling alive even at night to eat up what they have to offer. As such we decided to inspect this location a little bit in detail. Kedai Kopi Seng Thor located at Kimberley Street serve a good Koay Teow Theng, it is an instant cook type. Koay Teow Theng is a popular Penang hawker food of flat rice noodles cooked in clear soup and topped with slices of pork meat, minced pork, pork innards and fish balls. This is garnished with garlic bits, fried pork fat and scallions. Koay Teow Theng is usually served with a condiment of sliced chilli in soy sauce, either the big, red chilli or the hotter small green chilli.

Kedai Kopi WAH JUAN @ Tanjung Aru

Undeniably, Kedai Kopi Wah Juan is one of the locals favourite place for Zhu Chap(mixed pork). This tasty and mouthwatering pork innards with noodle is only available in the morning, from 7 am to 11 am, but usually sold out before 10 am. At times one must be very patient to wait for a table, which can take up to almost half an hour long as there is a huge crowds daily patronising the shop.

 Sang Nyuk Noodle was "invented" in Tawau during 1979, and became so popular that you can find anywhere in Sabah. Originated  from KK, Sabah in 1988, the ingredients of Sang Nyuk Noodle at Restoran Sang Nyuk Noodle are flown in all the way from KK to ensure the delicacy's authenticity is preserved.

Hu Tieu Mi is a Vietnamese Pork Noodle Soup, it is absolute my favorite that are made out of the Chinese-influenced noodle soup. The highlight was the clear soup, in order to achieve this, the pork bones used to make the broth needs to boiled and cleaned, and one has to be diligent about skimming off any fat or foam that rises to the surface.

Restaurant Kuo Man is located along Jalan Tuaran, about one and half mile away from Kota Kinabalu. It is one of Kota Kinabalu best noodle houses which has been established for more than 30 years. Famous for its Dry Noodles with Beef Slices, Dry Noodles with Fish and Fresh Prawn, Dry Noodle with Mixed Pork and porridge, the restaurant is always crowded especially during breakfast hours.

It's one of the Vietnamese favorite breakfast other then their Vietnam's national dish, the noodle soup known as Pho. This is a delicious and light noodle soup made popular in the northern parts of Vietnam, but can be found throughout the country.
