We are going to watch Karate Kid tonight. Before the movie, we had a simple lunch nearby the cinema. Roasted Chicken Rice RM4.50 At first glance, I thought that the Chicken Rice won't be good but I'm wrong. The Roasted Chicken was not bad. The meat was firm and smooth while the sauce tasted a bit too salty but goes well with the rice. The Nasi Minyak had a mild aroma of ginger and tasted quite flavourful. As we knew, this might be the busiest period of the month as Chinese New Year celebration is coming in few weeks time. Here is some easy recipe for those who would like to make some homemade cakes and cookies for Chinese New Year. Thanks to our beloved member, Michele Kuit for her recipes!! Sponge Cake Ingredients ========== 200g sponge cake mix flour 4 eggs 4 tbsp water or juice 4 tbsp melted butter/corn oil Method =====  Put flour & eggs into a mixing bowl. Use low speed to mix into a smooth batter. Change to high speed & beat till white & creamy. Add water or juices beat until light & fluffy. To test, use mixture to drip into a "O" shape & it can keep for 10 seconds. Add in butter. Use a spatula & mix in one direction until well combined. The word "BUSY" may be an excuse for not to cook and in fact we might be just lazy to cook. However, eating out everyday do make us bored sometimes, and hence, we will be craving for home cook food. One of the solution to have a home cook meal, despite of our crazy working schedule, is to make use of the slow cooker. Ingredients for Beef Stew: Beef - 600 grams Onion - 1 Garlic - 1 Potatoes(small) - 7 Carrot - 2 Bay Leaves: 2 Oregano Milk - 3 tablespoons   Ingredients   Cut the onion and garlic. Put it into the slow cooker   Add-in the beef, bay leaves and sprinkle of oregano . Got some fishes and prawns from one of the gym’s member(Jane). Since I’m not a good cook and I seldom cook, I’ll always left out something when it comes to shopping for groceries. Without any exception, I forgot to buy onions for my sweet and sour fish. Only when I was half way through the cooking process, I noticed it. Think and think... A new idea popped up in my mind. In order to bring out some good aroma to my sweet and sour fish, I added some oregano spice and that comes my oregano sweet and sour fish. Ingredients: Fish Corn Flour - half bowl Green Pepper - 1 Red Chillies - 1 Tomatoes - 2 Ketchup – half bowl Water – half bowl White Vinegar – 2 tablespoons Sugar – 1 tablespoon Salt – 1 teaspoon Oregano The main ingredients Fish coated with corn flour Fried fish till golden brown Stir-fry the green peppers, chillies and tomatoes before add-in the tomato sauce, vinegar and water.
