A talented hospitality professional with two decades of diverse experience in sales and marketing and a passion for building strong business relationships has been named five-star Meliá Koh Samui’s director of sales and marketing.

A talented professional with a passion for leadership and coaching who has won a string of coveted awards during his 20-year career has been named Meliá Koh Samui’s executive chef. Malaysian national Azizskandar Awang has joined the 159-room and 31-suite luxury resort on Koh Samui’s north-eastern coastline in the Gulf of Thailand, with ambitions to establish the island’s top fine dining restaurant at the new property.

Meliá Koh Samui opened on January 10, cutting the ribbon on 159 rooms and 41 suites as well as two restaurants, an executive lounge, a swim-up bar, spa, fitness centre, ballroom and, for families, a kids club, outdoor playground and mini-waterpark.

A seasoned professional with two decades of luxury hospitality experience across Europe, North America and Asia has been appointed to the helm of the new nautical-themed beachfront resort Meliá Koh Samui. Spanish-born Ernesto Osuna has taken charge of the opening of the 159-room and 31-suite luxury resort overlooking Choeng Mon Beach, on Koh Samui’s north-eastern coastline in the Gulf of Thailand.
