Meliá Koh Samui, Thailand and Alma Resort, Vietnam

Meliá Koh Samui opened on January 10, cutting the ribbon on 159 rooms and 41 suites as well as two restaurants, an executive lounge, a swim-up bar, spa, fitness centre, ballroom and, for families, a kids club, outdoor playground and mini-waterpark.

The resort is home to a two-level infinity pool and a large lagoon pool that loops like a river through the resort’s grounds. Accommodations range from deluxe rooms with a standalone bathtub on a private balcony, and pool access rooms with private terraces that give way to the loop pool, and to suites made from 100-year-old converted teak wood vessels.
In Vietnam, Alma commands some 30 hectares of beachfront real estate and offers 580 oversized suites and pavilions that all afford vistas of the ocean, including contemporary three bedroom oceanfront pavilions each totalling 224sqm with a living room, kitchen, four bathrooms and a private pool.

Opening soon, Alma is an integrated resort featuring a host of world-class facilities including a diverse range of restaurants helmed by leading chefs, a food court with an array of local and international cuisine, a classical bar, pool bar and beach bar, 12 swimming pools cascading down to the beach, a waterpark, a 13-treatment room spa, 70-seat cinema, convention centre, amphitheater, an art gallery, science museum, gymnasium and yoga room, 18-hole mini golf course, a youth centre with virtual reality games, a kid’s club, watersports centre and more
