Food, Booze and Sanook (Fun) by the Lake. Hidden within the trees and the quiet shop houses along Kelana Jaya is a row of swanky bars and restaurants facing the calm lake. It is surprising to know that this row of bars has been around for more than 2 years now but it’s my first time stepping my foot there. Surprising, because the environment feels nothing like being in the metropolitan – it’s peaceful, by the lake, cooling (at night) and away from the hustle and bustle of the chaotic traffic after work. It is, in other words, a break from the city. Among this row of bars is a place with the name Sanook, which also means “Fun” in Thai. It is one of the few bars around that actually offers food apart from booze. (Contributed by Iamthewitch.com)

For me, Valentine’s Day remains dear to my heart, not because of the significance of the date itself, but because of the special events that have happened the past few years since I’ve been with Saucer. In 2008, our Valentine’s Day was celebrated in Bali, where he painstakingly arranged a romantic dinner with the restaurant owner all the way from Malaysia. In 2009, our Valentine’s day was the day he proposed to me. And last year in 2010, we spent our Valentine’s Day honeymooning in beautiful Maldives.
