If you are an ardent follower of 8TV's food program titled "Ho Chiak", you would have know that it means 'great taste' or translated loosely 'nice to eat'. The program has risen in popularity since its humble beginnings back in 2007. I guess this stall just wants a to ride on the fame from that same name.Nonetheless, the food does deliver its "ho chiak-ness" in its mee siam. On first taste, you can really feel its aroma, with a slight sour tang just to ignite your appetite (if don't already have one!!). They are also rather generous on the shrimp serving.
One thing you need to be aware though, is that you tend to feel tired of the taste towards the end, as the spice and soury taste do get a bit overwhelming.

The Solution to that overpowering mee siam at "ho-chiak" would be to end your lunch with some rojak buah. This rojak would not be your savoury rojak jawa variant, but a rather, (as the name suggest) a fruit salad variant.
A good rojak buah is all about the magic in the black sauce, and not having those annoying bitter ends of cucumber and a pineapple that's not too juicy. For this stall, the black sauce was not too bad, while the fruit and vege used was just ok.
