The Zillion Dollar Frittata – $1000
Culinary craziness has reached new heights in New York with the debut of the $1,000 omelet! Le Parker Meridien hotel on W. 57th St. recently added the bank-breaking breakfast dish to its menu, charging patrons what it costs to buy about 200 omelets at your local greasy spoon. It is apparently no ordinary omelet, consisting, as it does, of a mix of eggs, lobster and lots of caviar.
10) matsutake1

$12000 Cash Only Meal?
It’s called Knish and if you want one, you have to place your order 48 hours in advance. You also have to pay $12,000 - IN CASH! So what is a Knish? It is “Osetra, Sevruga and Beluga caviars, white alba truffles, 24k edible gold leaf, lobster, Kobe tartar, a Kobe burger, a Kobe hot dog, an ostrich egg, two kinds of foie gras - duck and goose, and a moose snout and drizzled with 100 yr old balsamic vinegar and doused with with Louis XIII Cognac and flambéed.” Kind of like the day before you decide you have to go to the grocery - when you wrangle up everything you can find in your fridge and pantry and then, concoct something that is edible but, just barely. The catch: it’s fake… Having said that, it’s not too far off several of the other thousand dollar drinks and dishes we’ve seen at Trend Hunter. Yesterday’s news of a $1,000 sushi roll really touched a nerve in one reader. When we saw an e-mail with the subject “Suffolk Kitchen introduces $12,000 Knish,” we, of course, assumed it was for real. As we read the “press release,” however, it became obvious that the pitch was full of it, though arguably no more so than the one about the sushi roll.

$5000 Hamburger

World's Most Expensive Dessert
If you think the cheesecake you had last weekend was expensive, wait until you try the The Fortress Aquamarine. Sold at a restaurant in Sri Lanka, this dessert made the Forbes Travelers list of the world’s most expensive desserts. It consists of an 80 carat aquamarine gem and some chocolate. Supposedly, none of these have been sold. I can’t imagine why. Inspired by another gem-studded treat, the Bombay Sapphire Martini, the dessert consists of an 80-carat aquamarine gem that sits on a sliver of chocolate shaped to look like the resort’s logo. For a mere $14,500 (not including the handmade glass utensils), diners can keep the gemstone after finishing their treat. Since its March introduction, not even a single piece has been sold.

$2 Million Cognac
The world’s most expensive cognac which is packaged by jeweler Jose Davalos, is the Henri IV Dudognon Heritage dubbed as the DNA of cognacs. This ultra expensive liquor which has been produced since 1776, is aged in barrels for more than 100 years. The cognac is then bottled in a bejeweled bottle which is dipped in 24 K gold and sterling platinum and decorated with 6,500 brilliant cut diamonds. So I don’t suppose this bottle gets recycled when empty. Anyway, with an alcohol content of 41%, our Henri IV Dudognon Heritage bottle weighs approximately 8 kilograms and it is filled with 100 cl. of the precious liquor. The Henri IV Dudognon Heritage is priced at 1 million sterling pounds or US $1,982,300 per bottle. Cheers.

$6,485 Bottle of Champagne
Perrier-Jouet Champagne, which usually sells for $1,275 a bottle, has gotten even pricier; they’ve created a new limited edition bubbly for billionaires! They took a bunch of sugar and wines from a special region and jugged it up and will be selling it for an outrageous $6,485 a bottle. The first bottles go on sale after a glamorous launch event at the Opera Garnier in Paris on March 20. “The bubbly is tailor-made through the addition of a liqueur, a combination of sugar and wines from different years,” according to the International Herald Tribune. “Buyers will also be offered an haute cuisine dinner and an overnight stay at Perrier-Jouet’s Belle-Epoque mansion in Epernay, east of Paris, that is home to 200 pieces of original modern art.” Oh well now, doesn’t this just pop your cork? They would prefer you buy a box set of 12 for $78,944. But with the US investment markets tanking, setting aside the box for a few years might be a wise investment.

$71,000 Flawless Cocktail
You haven’t tasted opulence til you’ve sipped on the US $71,011.50 glasses of “Flawless” at London nightclub, Movida. It’s officially the world’s most expensive Christmas cocktail according to the Daily Mail, and it’s being launched today. “Ingredients in the costly cocktail include a large measure of Louis XII cognac, half a bottle of Cristal Rose champagne, some brown sugar, angostura bitters and a few flakes of 24-carat edible gold leaf, according to The Guardian,” the Mail said. “But the real extravagance is an 11-carat white diamond ring - which can be found at the bottom of the glass. “And customers buying the exorbitant cocktail won’t go unnoticed. Two security guards will be on watch as the drink is prepared and watch over the client’s table until the last sip.” No doubt this will be the engagement method of choice for some of London’s most affluent this season! Undeniably memorable, just hopefully not as the night your wife-to-be chocked on a massive diamond. Hopefully the security guys are up to par on their Heimlich.

The Grand Opulence Sundae
We all do love ice creams for sure! But not every ice cream we love is affordable like this $1,000 ice cream sundae called the Grand Opulence Sundae from famed Serendipity of New York City. Apparently this ice cream is the “World’s most expensive sundae.” Made with 5 scoops of the richest Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23K edible gold leaf, the sundae is drizzled with the world's most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porceleana, and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela's coast. The masterpiece is suffused with exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold dragets, truffles and Marzipan Cherries. It is topped with a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar, made of salt-free American Golden caviar, known for its sparkling golden color. It's sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. The sundae is served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18K gold spoon to partake in the indulgenceserved with a petite mother of pearl spoon and topped with a gilded sugar flower

$3,333.33 Ice Cream Sundaes
Trendhunter.com reported on the world’s most expensive ice cream sundae, the $1,000 Grand Opulence Sundae from Serendipity of New York City. Somebody should call Guinness to let them know there is a new kid on the block - Three Twins Ice Cream’s “World’s Most Expensive Ice Cream Sundae”. So how much is it? - $3,333.33. The sundae is made with three rare dessert wines (see image) As a member of 1% For The Planet, an organization whose members give a portion of their profits to environmental groups, one-third of the purchase price will be donated to a local land trust.
