With Chinese New Year behind us, the year of the Tiger roars into our lives with a bang?! Well at least for me. Just like all of you, I have been busy working and definitely failing horribly as a food blogger as well. Ange and monica please forgive my once a month or so appearance =) But having said that, yes i have been eating but, i failed to capture shots of my food everyday.
Not too long ago, i went with my date to try out this place at 4 Rochester Park. "GRAZE" .The name ‘Graze’ relates to eating at a leisurely pace in relaxed surroundings. The grassy lawns of Graze’s 5,000 sq. foot gardens and the fresh, airy ambience of the colonial-style house was also an inspiration for its name. Its a really beautiful place to just relax, chill out and enjoy each others company. It wasn't pretentious neither was it overwhelming. But just a gentle reminder, please do make reservations for weekend, as me the smart alec never learned my lesson. In singapore, everything is about reservation. Well we only waited for 25 mins for them to set up a new table etc.
But if you intend to impress your date, I'd suggest a reservation will come in handy instead of making ur date wait. Or perhaps not even getting a seat at all.
It has a striking water feature and an outdoor lounge where you can chill out to watch movie al fresco style =) It would have been a beautiful picture if it was during daytime but its difficult to capture the beauty of this place at night, and flashing my camera wasnt an option.

As we were waiting for our table to be set up, we were sitted at the bar area.

I opted for the house white to go along with my main meal and entree, and my date had the grazing smile which was fresh grape juice, cranberry juice topped with sprite $10. It tasted really nice but the size was way to small for $10.
We we served with bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar as starters. The bread was soft in the inside and crusty on the outside.
For starters, we both had the oyster shooter. $8
Ginger wine wasabi and cucumber oil
It was delicious but i still love the oyster shooter from Ezard i had in Melbourne.
They used sake instead which was perfecto!
We also had salt and pepper grilled sea scallops $ 19
Sliced mango, lime, fresh herbs and vanilla syrup
The scallop was really fresh and juicy and fat! The taste was really good as well.
Although I am not a big fan of scallop, i thought this was really nice.

When the food first arrived, i thought the portion was rather small. But after completing the whole meal, it was just perfect. You don't fell too full neither hungry. There is always room for dessert but i gave the dessert a miss this time as i chose entree over dessert.

I would have preffered it a bit more raw. But it was still delicious and the condiments and sauce complimented the dish very well. The salad was really delicious.

There is so much truth in this saying. Very often we complicate things for ourselves and perhaps we should just take a step back and look at things from a different perspective. The mind loves to think. So it thinks and thinks about things. Making them more and more complex than they ever really were. And so you bog yourself down with too many thoughts and perhaps a lack of action due to things just seeming too complicated and hard. Don’t get lost in details and unimportant things. Realize what is most important, discard what you don’t need. Spend more time on the important things in your life like your health, happiness and family.
