Wine Tasting @ Portofino Ristorante Italiano
Portofino Ristorante Italiano invited Everydayfoodilove.co recently to wine tasting event on the 4th of October 2016. The star of the event was Mr. Alberto Orengia, who is the Asia Area Manager of Sartori di Verona. On the auspicious occasion, he and the famous vintner were proud to showcase 5 of their excellent wines, two of which were white wines and the remaining three red. But before we begin, a little bit about our wine host.

Sartori Soave Classico Doc 2014
This wine is bright light yellow in colour. It has a floral fruity aroma, and it leaves a nice aftertaste of almonds. Sartori bianco Veronese IGT “Marani” Amaron 2013
This light yellow wine has a very heavy aroma of fruit and a little honey. It is flavourful, with a strong mineral taste.Sartori Valpolicella Classico DOC 2014
This dark red wine has a nice fruity bouquet, and was easy to the palate with a hint of black fruit flavour. Sartori rosso Veronese IGT “Regolo” 2012
This wine has a pleasant bouquet reminiscent of woodland berries. It was smooth and dry with a subtle black cherry flavour.Sartori Classico Amarone DOCG “Rejus” 2010
This dark red wine quickly became the author’s favourite. It had a smooth full-bodied taste that was almost like port, with a nice red-fruit aroma.During the wine-tasting, we were also treated to a buffet style-dinner prepared by our host Portofino Ristorante Italiano itself. It was a simple affairs of good old fashioned italian foods, from a salad, risotto, pasta, pizzas, chicken cordon bleu, finished off with a nice dessert. Coupled with some good company, the experience left everybody in high spirits. We will definitely be looking forward to the next event.
If you are looking to spend an evening wining and dining affordably, why not pay a visit to Portofino?
