Dear readers,
Greetings from Jessica. Fyi, I'm a food lover (who's not, right?) but I'm not a good blogger and I had 0 experience in blogging. In order to make a food blog to be successful, it needed a lot of efforts and also contributions from all, so, I'm glad to be part of the team who will be contributing some posts.
My first post in this blog will be about my recent trip to Singapore. It was a shopping cum eating trip.
My first stop upon arriving at Singapore was Din Tai Fung. There was once that a Singaporean proudly told me that if I had never try Din Tai Fung, it means that I had never been to Singapore. However, it was few years back. Nowadays, even KL had plenty of Din Tai Fung's outlets. Then, I'm still curious with the flavours at Din Tai Fung, Singapore.Xiao Lung Bao
The signature dish at Din Tai Fung; Xiao Lung Bao. When you bite through the Xiao Lung Bao, the hot and juicy soup will leak from the dumpling. The Xiao Lung Bao have to be eaten together with black vinegar and ginger, it will reduce the unpleasant smell of the pork dumpling. Taste wise, it was nice.
Steamed Vegetables and Pork Dumpling
The Steamed Vegetables and Pork Dumpling tasted almost the same like Xiao Lung Bao, only with some additional vegetables.
Oriental Wantan with Black Vinegar and Chili Oil
I heard that the Oriental Wantan with Black Vinegar and Chili Oil was one of their new dish. It tasted quite good but after having two similar pork dumpling dishes, I tend to get bored with the taste of dumplings.
Szechuan La Mian
The La Mian was springy and smooth while the soup was sourish and spicy. Appetizing dish which could really fill-up the stomach.
Noodle Soup with Fried Pork Chop
The Noodle Soup with Fried Pork Chop just tasted okay. Nothing to be shout home about.
Fried Rice with Shrimps and Egg
I'm a rice lover. That's explained the half missing portion of fried rice in the photo. It was tasty. Not too MSG loaded. The shrimp was fresh and juicy. Thumbs up!
Red Bean Glutinous Rice Dumpling
Glutinous Rice Dumpling Festival is around the corner (I mean during my visit), that's why we ordered the Rice Dumpling to try. It was pretty good and full-stop. Nothing more to describe about it.
The meal was settled by one of my friend in Singapore. It will be too rude for me to ask for the price of the bill. Sorry! Before I went to Din Tai Fung, I had actually dropped by at Mandarin Gallery for window shopping but...
I was tempted by the 40 % discount at Beschle Chocolate. I paid $44.30 for the chocolates I bought. Think about the endorphins releases when having the chocolate..hmmm..too hard to be resisted.
