Jonetz by Don Don Donki® Opens At Sunway Pyramid

Pan Pacific Retail Management (Malaysia), led by President Satoshi Machida, opened JONETZ by DON DONKI® at Sunway Pyramid on November 1, 2022. DON DON DONKI has been expanding the Japanese brand's specialty concept store in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Their latest outlet at Sunway Pyramid covers a retailing area of around 400,000 square meters. The iconic mall houses more than 700 specialty stores and is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Launched in Hong Kong in 2021, Sen Sen Sushi is strongly supported by locals and currently has 4 branches in Hong Kong and 1 branch store in Thailand. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, Sen Sen Sushi opened in Sunway Pyramid on October 28, exclusively for DONKI app members to enjoy fresh sushi before the grand opening last Monday. JONETZ by DON DON DONKI®'s popular sushi is made from freshly milled Japanese Koshihikari rice and an exclusive red wine vinegar blend, as well as fresh sushi toppings from around the world. In the future, regular fairs matching the seasons in Japan will also be held in collaboration with local municipalities in Japan.

Also within the same premises, Tomita Seimai, the premium Japanese rice specialist store, opened at the same time so that Malaysian customers can enjoy the taste of Japanese rice. At Tomita Seimai, freshly milled Akita Komachi and Yamagata Haenuki rice is offered daily, as well as Japanese Nigiri made with Koshihikari rice from Niigata Prefecture. Freshly milled rice has a high water content and customers may experience its full potential from its umami, sweetness, and graininess.

At JONETZ by DON DON DONKI® Sunway Pyramid, a wagyu skewer kiosk stationed at the entrance offers JAKIM-certified halal beef. Skewers made with A5 Wagyu beef proved to be popular with consumers as it is an easy way to sample high-quality Wagyu beef, making it a popular item. Also available is also a wide variety of desserts and frozen foods in store for the convenience of visitors.
