Yoga and calorie burning
There are certain types of yoga that more active and intense to help you burn the most calories. This may help prevent weight gain. Flow yoga and power yoga are the types of yoga keep you moving almost constantly, which helps you to burn calories. Yoga practice will also help you develop muscle tone and improve your metabolism.
Yoga is a promising way to help with changes in behaviour, weight loss, and maintain a healthy body weight, heightening your awareness, reducing stress and help control food craving.
In order to lose weight do a more active, intense yoga practice at least three to five times per week for at least one hour. Balance out your practice with a more relaxing, gentle class like yin and restorative yoga. Restorative yoga was effective in helping overweight women to lose weight, including abdominal fat.
For beginner, start slowly, this allows your body to build up strength, improve flexibility and prevent injuries. If you don’t have time, do a self-practice for at least 20 minutes. Take a full day of rest from practice each week.
Cross train yoga with activities such as walking, jogging, cycling or swimming for cardiovascular benefits.
Avoid weighing yourself directly after a yoga, since you may lose water weight during the intense yoga session. Instead, weigh yourself at the same time each day in the morning.
