Calling All Runners for the IMU Chariofare Charity Run 2018

We all know that running is great for many reasons and what’s even better is when you can run for charity at the same time! Sounds like something that excites you? Then check out IMU’s annual Chariofare Charity Run where you can do both running and contributing to charity while having a great time.

Organised under the banner of IMU Cares (IMU’s channel for community service programmes involving its staff, students and alumni), this year’s run will take place on Saturday, 22 September 2018, at the International Medical University, Bukit Jalil. The theme this year, Igniting Paths, pays tribute to why Chariofare was established in the first place, which is to unite people of all walks to come together for a charitable cause and support the less fortunate while at the same time celebrating humanity, unity and togetherness. The beating hearts during the race serve as a symbol of passion and action whereby everyone is gathered and united for the event to make a difference and touch as many lives as we can.
There will be eight run categories of 10km and 5km distances, including a 3km Fun Run for children 12 and below where little runners will decorate a canvas along their run route using their handprints and a team challenge. Up to 1,500 runners are expected to sign up for the race, which will flag off at 6:30am. Prizes and medals will be given to the first five runners in each categories while participants will receive finisher’s medals, participation certificate and goodie bags including coupon for breakfast.
The general public can also check out the Chariofare Carnival that is happening concurrently from 8:30am to 1:30pm. Feast on delicious food, take part in fun games and activities, sing and dance to live performances, learn more about your health, and win fabulous prizes during the carnival. All profits from the carnival will be donated to IMU Care’s beneficiary. Only coupons are allowed during the carnival, which can be bought during the day itself or when you register for the run and during roadshows.

It’s all fun, games and run for a good cause with IMU Chariofare Charity Run and Carnival. Registration is currently open at www.imu.edu.my/chariofare with fees between RM25 to RM60 for the individual races and RM500 for the team challenge.
See you at the starting line!
