ReGen Rehabilitation Malaysia (ReGen)

ReGen Rehabilitation Malaysia (ReGen), tipped to be the first private rehabilitation hospital in the country, is the first of its kind to offer a continuum of full rehabilitation services. ReGen’s mission to “recover and restore”, is to get patients diagnosed with stroke, sports injuries, spinal, cardiac and brain injuries and other debilitating circumstances back on their feet.

As the first step towards realising this goal, and to celebrate its soft opening, ReGen is launching a Make-A-Wish campaign running from 4th June to 2nd July 2018. Make-A-Wish offers the public a chance to nominate their loved ones for holistic and specialised treatment.

If you know someone who needs rehabilitative care, share your wish for them through this campaign. ReGen will be providing sponsored treatment for 3 deserving patients, so that they can receive the specialised treatment and therapy they need for a brighter future. To nominate someone, visit: www.lettherebehope.rehab/join.php.

ReGen Rehabilitation Malaysia (ReGen) aims to meet this need by bringing focused quality rehabilitation services to the ASEAN region. As a partnership between Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Select Medical, one of the largest post-acute care companies in the United States, ReGen brings years of rehabilitation experience and knowledge to Malaysia.

As populations age and non-communicable ailments become more prevalent, the need to address these concerns is increasingly urgent. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has identified physical rehabilitation as the key health strategy of the 21st century.
According to Sue Lee, CEO of ReGen, “ReGen aspires to be a Regional Centre of Excellence for Rehabilitation Medicine with the aim of adding not just years to life, but also life to years, by adopting a versatile, multifaceted team care approach practised by rehabilitation hospitals in the US, Europe and Australia.”

The 96-Bed private specialty rehabilitation hospital in Section 13, Petaling Jaya will offer Neurorehabilitation, Musculoskeletal, Oncology, Cardiac and Sports Rehab services alongside other rehab programmes. The hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, with each ward boasting its own medical gym and empowered by skilled and specialized rehabilitation expertise and evidence-based care protocols.

This is in keeping with ReGen’s mission to provide world-class rehabilitation care to patients who have suffered from debilitating injury or illness, so they may regain as much physical and cognitive function as possible in order to lead an independent, high-quality life.

As the first specialty private hospital in the region, ReGen Rehabilitation will also be actively involved in research and education through strategic collaborations with other local and international Centres of Excellence that share a similar vision, therefore turning Malaysia into a regional hub for Rehabilitation Medicine.

ReGen Rehabilitation’s pilot Petaling Jaya hospital will eventually be the benchmark for a nationwide network of rehab facilities to meet the market demands for patient recovery and restoration.
