Vision City Video Games Park and Berbuka Puasa At Rajawali Coffeehouse Ramadan Buffet

When was the last time you stepped into a Video Game Center or an Arcade? For me, it was about the time when Time Crisis 2 was in fashion. Yeah, that was in 1997. Since then, I've played the odd game or two but haven't really sat down for a good session. Thanks to Resorts World Genting (RWG) however, I had the opportunity to see if I still had the magic and duked it out at Vision City Video Games Park
.
Vision City Video Games Park is among the largest arcade centers in Malaysia. Four different types of games are available, namely video games, redemption games, kiddie rides and skill games. 429 units of machinery provides the games ark with an amazing array of 294 video games consisting of shooting games, racing games, fighting games and music games. It is continuously updated with newer machines and games, and is equipped with state-of-the-art video machines from Japan, Taiwan and China.

Also available are redemption games that reward the player proportionally to their score once they hit their targets. The scores are converted into e-tickets that are kept in the player's eZicash card; players can accumulate these e-tickets and have them stored for a maximum of two years. The e-tickets can be used to redeem merchandise at Genting Resorts Casino too.

Visitors can also enjoy the many skill games available that test a player's accuracy in aiming and hitting; their tool is a ball, a coin or a gun. And each time they hit a target, they are given a prize—usually a plush toy—on the spot. The higher the level of difficulty, the larger the prize.
I was given RM200 worth of credit to crazy with, and for the most part, I played nearly every game there was on offer at Vision city Video Games Park. But two games stuck prominently in my mind. The first being this awesome awesome video game called PAC-MAN BATTLE ROYALE. If you have never played the original arcade game before, fret not, you can try your hand at it here. But if you wanna try this game against your friends, the four-person arcade machine at Vision City Video Games Park is the place to do it! I got best player of course.

The other game I really wanted to try my hand at was the STAR WARS BATTLEPOD! In it you play a pilot of the intrepid Rebel Alliance and you get to choose to fly in one of the classic scenarios straight out of the original Star Wars Trilogy. My favourite is of course the Battle for Yavin IV.
Confusing much? Select your mission! And then it was off we go! Controls were pretty straightforward, as you can see it was just HOTAS (Hands On Throttle-And-Stick), pretty much a staple for video games involving flight simulation or mecha combat. The left stick was for throttle and the right for maneuvers and guns. This BATTLEPOD WAS PRETTY IMMERSIVE, easily the best game in the whole video game park!

Coming out of hyperspace...
And we're flying against a swarm of screaming TIE Fighters desperately defending the DEATH STAR! And like in the movies, even Lord Vader makes an appearance in his TIE FIghter Advanced. The finale of the mission, is of course shooting PROTON TORPEDOES down the ventilation shaft of the Death Star to blow it up. The FORCE was not with me that day though so I flunked that last bit and the rebel moon-base on Yavin IV got blown up. Oh well, RELOAD. Oh, and if you wanted to try this in multiplayer mode, there are multiplayer Battlepod consoles set up outside the pod.

After a fun and tiring day wandering and exploring the Vision City Video Games Park and exploring the SkyAvenue, it was time to break fast and have dinner. Thanks to Resorts World Genting, I had the opportunity to try the food at the Rajawali Coffeehouse Ramadan buffet. It was great! I espeically enjoyed the Roasted Meats station and the Hot Soups station. It was just plain SEDAP all the way.
