Kohler and the Arts Exhibition
In the last few weeks, Everyday Food I Love was invited to an art exhibition at the Players Club Kuala Lumpur (TPCKL). It was held at the Piano Lounge from 26th - 30th October and featured arts of six artist from six countries in Southeast Asia; Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Mr. Peter Oesch, the Director of Marketing and Communications K&B Asia Pacific was present at the event to speak to attendees about some of Kohler’s products and talk about the passion behind the art exhibits, both of which the former and the latter were on display. He was very knowledgeable and spoke with passion about the importance of art and the subtle influence it has in our everyday lives. Malaysian celebrity Amber Chia was also present to grace the event and add her delightful charm to the proceedings. It was thrilling to have met her, I found her very warm and charming (and also tall, lols).

After spending sometime presenting some of Kohler’s magnificent range of products and fielding a short Q and A session, Mr. Oesch brought us down to the Piano Lounge where he led a short tour and presentation about the intriguing art exhibits displayed. The art exhibits were interesting and varied with a variety of mediums including ceramics, glass and cast iron.
DID YOU KNOW? Kohler has had a strong art influence when some of their products were picked to become a permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 1929. Since then, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (1967) and Kohler Co. (1873) has been supporting artists from their homebase in Wisconsin.
“Our MISSION is to generate a creative exchange between artists and the public.”
While I was there, we had the opportunity to check out other interesting events happening at the same time. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) was there with a large booth to raise Breast Cancer Awareness and I also had time to catch the final moments of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia Tournament which took place on the 27-30 October. With a prize money of $1.8 million, it was pretty tense and yet exciting! The Champion of the tournament was Shan Feng of china who walked away with a cool $270,000.00
