Street food @ Ximending, Taipei

Apart from shopping, Ximending is also a great place for street food. Whether is during the day or night time, you can always find street food around the corner.

Pan-fried Bun NT$12 each
Pan-fried Bun is a common breakfast item in Taiwan. The bun filled with vegetables or meat, was crispy on the bottom with delicious and moist filling.

Ay Zhong Mian Xian, literally translated as Ay Zhong Rice Flour Noodle is a 'must-eat' item when you visit Taipei.

The smooth rice flour noodle drenched in flavourful broth, accompanied by pork intestines, was really delicious. Its unique flavour could hardly be describe by words.

Spring Onion Pancake

Another common street food you can find is the Spring Onion Pancake. You can have it plain or with extra topping. My selection of toppings were basil leaves, egg and ham, spread with sweet and spicy sauce. The pancake was aromatic and has a really nice crispy and chewy texture while its topping further enhanced its flavours.

Pan-fried Carrot Cake
Pan-fried Carrot Cake is a breakfast item you can easily find in Taiwan. It was pan-fried till crispy on the outer layer, mushy inside. Served with sweet sauce and spicy sauce, it was a simple and tasty dish.

Three Brothers and Sisters (三兄妹) Dessert
Your trip wouldn't be complete without trying the dessert at Three Brothers and Sisters. Their Snow Ice is the main attraction which draw lots of tourists daily.

Peanut Snow Ice with Red Bean
Smooth and creamy Peanut Snow Ice was so delicious and wasn't too sweet. Topped with red bean, it was simply irresistible.

Black Sugar Snow Ice with Taro Ball, Potato Ball and Pearl
Another favourite of mine is the Black Sugar Snow Ice. The smooth and refreshing taste never fail to amazed me.

Wasabi Fish Ball

Cheesy Potato
The Cheesy Potato is a dish I can have continuously for few days without getting tired. The Potato was deep-fried till crispy on the outside, topped with sweet corn, bacon, ham, broccoli, pineapple and cheese sauce. It was rich, creamy and really delicious.

Grilled Sticky Rice
Grilled Sticky Rice is a hot item in Ximending. The sticky rice was perfectly grilled till crispy on the outside, topped with your favourite topping. Our choice was peanut and chocolate.
