Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore is celebrating its official reopening. The newly renovated property pioneers innovations in design and product for the nine other Hotel Jen properties under Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited across Asia Pacific.

Mr. Weiner was appointed as General Manager of the hotel in 2013. He led the rebranding of Traders Hotel, Singapore to Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore, and oversees the operation of the 546-room hotel. Traders Hotel, Singapore is the first Traders property to undergo a global rebranding exercise.He joined the Shangri-La Group in 2010 as Executive Assistant Manager-Food and Beverage at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. Next, he was promoted to Resident Manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, before moving to Traders.
An advocate for free-spirited thinking to push existing boundaries and introduce new ideas, Mr. Weiner is currently building on the property’s 19-year heritage to create a refreshed and invigorating hotel environment under the Hotel Jen brand.
Mr. Weiner comes from a family of hoteliers in Switzerland’s Engadin Valley, and has a personal passion for cooking and culinary excellence which started from an early age.
Hotel Jen has undergone this extensive $SGD45 million makeover to transition from Traders Hotel Singapore. The fresh and contemporary hotel, designed to attract the same highly valued business and leisure traveller, now reflects a modern functional design concept that removes many of the common pain points of today’s travellers – whether individuals, families or groups.

None of the 565 rooms are the same – with four contemporary locally curated wallpaper designs highlighting a Singapore theme (bicycle, orchid, goldfish and shop house). Each room includes thoughtful touches such as: free WiFi, USB charger outlets, high pressure walk-in showers, and king-sized “floating” beds with 300-thread count linen. Executive suites also include a pull-out sofa bed, a small pantry, a microwave and a SMEG fridge. The 18 Storey hotel also boasts a large, chic and vibrantly designed Club Lounge located on the 17th floor with open views of the nearby residential neighbourhood full of lush greenery,offering a wide variety of healthy breakfast items and a range of local and international cocktails and canapes in the evening becoming fast the most popular area of the hotel.
A fresh take on all-day dining
Authentic South-East Asian cuisine will be showcased in J65, a new restaurant with a local farmer’s market look and feel. The chic lobby also houses Jen’s Kitchen On-the-Go – a café and snack bar offering Singapore’s finest artisan products including locally roasted coffee and many open lounging areas to meet the growing social needs of the next generation traveller.

J65 - the all-day dining restaurant has a South-East Asian market feel, while the artisan inspired Jen’s Kitchen On-the-Go will offer locally roasted coffee and snacks, 24 hours a day.

With a name inspired by the Singapore international dialling code, the new-look all day dining restaurant will open to diners for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Authentic South-East Asian cuisine in abundant portions will be showcased in the vibrant restaurant with a modern market look and feel. Weekday lunch is an eclectic mix of deli style food ideal for business lunches. A strong focus on plant and soil based dishes are amongst the buffet spread, for those looking to lighter and healthier options. Expect a variety of salads such as Roast Pumpkin and Beetroot, Kale with Quinoa and Banana Flower Salad, grilled veg sandwiches, quiches, soups and brown rice sushi. For those craving a more substantial lunch, a variety of hot dishes, six versions of Laksa, generously portioned Hong Kong BBQ are also served up.

As entrepreneurship is actively encouraged at Hotel Jen Tanglin, the café boasts a delicious selection of artisan- roasted coffee brewed from scratch by baristas from local coffee connoisseurs, Nomad the Gallant – as well as curated teas. With a keen eye for selecting and roasting the finest coffee beans, Nomad the Gallant have developed a reputation and local following for creating aromatic specialty coffee blends.
