Cristao Bar and Grill @ Gaya Street - Special preview
Barely a forthnight after being invited for a food review at this fine establishment, the lingering yearn for a good grilled ribs was driving us crazy, and fate would have it that we be invited yet again for a small get together at this uniquely Malaysian-Portuguese joint. This time around we were in for a special preview of good things to come.

The last time around, our bellies were unprepared with the sheer amount of awesome grub, we've learned from that costly mistake and thus ready for whatever came our way, or so we thought. The buffet spread was filled with rich and meaty goodness. So first off, we dug into what we couldn't the last time we came - Piri-piri grilled chicken. Lightly spiced but packed with natural flavours and with a hint of sourness was the perfect start to kick off the appetite. Nicely browned as always, the chicken was tender and juicy inside. For those who lack the will to take in heat from spices, fret not, their normal grilled chicken is just as awesome, glazed with a shine, it certainly has the looks to match the juicy and tender chicken wings. Their homemade piri-piri sauce also packs a wallop in terms of flavor and spice.

Pork Vindaloo
Next, we had the honour of tasting something that has yet to appear on the menu (but soon will). We KKians are now blessed with the proprietor's secret recipe of pork vindaloo, a traditional Portuguese dish now appearing on our shores. Fragrant with spices and slightly sour, this dish pares nicely with rice. It is less liquid than normal curry, and is thus very rich.
Side Dishes
Grilled Fish and Grilled Vegetables
We also had various grilled fish and vegetables with a nice spicy chilli sauce dipping sauce.
Devil's Curry Chicken
Also the devil's chicken curry makes yet another appearance that is always looked forward to.
Grilled Pork Ribs
The one that we've been longing. Grilled Pork ribs, even more tender than we last remembered, sweet and savory all at once. This dish is not to be missed.
Pulled Pork Burger
The pulled pork burger is also a welcomed sight and fast becomes a feature inside our bellies. Compact with a light hint of sweetness, this juicy burgers makes you salivate..even 2 days later.
Pineapple Tart
When you're in a Portuguese eatery, you're bound to get a Portuguese egg tart or two, and tonight, we were obliged, that and also some sweet pineapple tart.
Portuguese Tart
Another dessert that you absolutely must try is the Moist Chocolate salted caramel cake. Sweet and slightly savoury, if you're not used to it, it brings almost a comical aftertaste, then the richness of the chocolate and caramel kicks in to give you much needed euphoria.
