Yee Sang
The ‘Yee Sang’ itself was very traditional, with brightly coloured shredded vegetables, both pickled and fresh, crackers, sesame seeds, tuna fish and served with a special Thai mango sauce.
Tuna Fish
Braised sharksfin soup, sea moss, dried scallop and crabmeat
Rich and thick in texture, the crab meat chunk, scallop and with the sea moss "fatt choy" it sound more auspicious and added more delightful flavor to the soup.
Roasted crispy chicken in Sichuan style
Crispy roasted chicken skin with tender meat goes well with the Sichuan sauce.
Braised sea cucumber with dried scallop, mushroom and garden greens.
The dried scallop was sweet and chewy, sea cucumber has a good slimy in texture. The broccoli beautifully crunchy and the black fleshy mushroom was aromatic and all well coated in a superb mild oyster sauce.
Steamed pomfret fish with soy sauce
The pomfret fish tasted as fresh as if it had come straight from the ocean, thick and lean flesh top with lightly scented soy sauce
Braised Chinese Cabbage with dried scallop sauce
A simple steamed dish, but was a perfect combination of chinese cabbage with dried scallop bits and sauce
Braised E-fu noodles with golden mushrooms and dried scallop
E-Fu noodles are a constant favourite at a lot of Chinese festive occasions and also refer to longevity noodles when eaten as a celebratory dish on birthdays where the long noodle strands are symbolic of a full and long life. The texture of the noodles is quite toothsome and tasted especially good with the braising method, it completely absorbed the flavor of dried scallop and golden mushroom.
Chilled sea coconut with almond beancurd
Sea coconut chilled dessert with a smooth jelly almond beancurd, tasted fabulous
Pan-fried Chinese Nian Gao
Sticky sweet snack with a chewy texture and slightly crispy on the outside. The Yee Sang selections which will tickle your tastebuds are the Tuna Fish served with Thai Mango Sauce, Abalone served in Orange Mayo Sauce, Norwegian Salmon, China Pear and Black Caviar served with traditional Plum Sauce and Young Jelly Fish served with Apple Plum Sauce.
Also enjoy 'auspicious' dishes like; Double-boiled superior shark's fin soup with assorted dried seafood, braised sliced abalone with fish maw and Chinese mushrooms, stir-fried chicken fillet and ginko nut with almond flakes, wok-fried prawns with crab meat and roe, topped with egg white, and stir fried thread vermicelli noodle with seafood, to name a few.
