“Taste the Wonders of Australia” Arrives in Kuala Lumpur, Uniting Nation’s Premium Food and Wine in a Landmark Culinary Showcase
Event celebrates 70 years of Australia-Malaysia diplomatic relations, spotlighting future growth for high-quality Australian produce in a key ASEAN market.
This September, the heart of Australian cuisine is coming to Malaysia. “Taste the Wonders of Australia,” the ultimate showcase of Australian food and wine, will debut in Kuala Lumpur on September 30, presented by the newly formed Australian Food and Wine Collaboration Group.
This strategic alliance unites five of Australia’s leading agricultural industry bodies—Hort Innovation, Dairy Australia, Meat & Livestock Australia, Seafood Industry Australia, and Wine Australia—in a powerful, coordinated push to deepen trade ties and showcase the unparalleled quality, diversity, and sustainability of Australian produce to the Malaysian market.
The event coincides with a significant milestone: the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Malaysia. This partnership is more vital than ever, with Malaysia standing as Australia’s 11th largest trading partner for agriculture, with exports valued at AUD$1.8 billion in 2024-25. With a growing, affluent middle class and increasing demand for premium imported goods, Malaysia represents a prime growth opportunity for Australia’s food and wine sectors.
An Immersive Journey for the Senses
“Taste the Wonders of Australia” is designed as an immersive experience, moving beyond a traditional trade show. Attendees will embark on a curated journey through interactive workshops and tastings led by renowned chefs, winemakers, and industry experts. The program includes:
· Understanding Australian Dairy – Cream Cheese and Yogurt: Discover the innovation and quality behind Australia’s world-class dairy.
· Australia’s Premium Horticulture: A fresh look at the finest fruits, vegetables, and nuts, celebrated for their flavour and food safety.

A United Front for Long-Term Partnership
Dr. Mila Bristow of Hort Innovation Australia highlighted the unique, collaborative model of the initiative. “We are not just representing individual sectors; we are presenting the full spectrum of Australian food and wine as one cohesive brand. This united front builds unparalleled trust and transparency with our partners. Our goal isn’t a quick sale; it’s to cultivate the long-term relationships that form the foundation of sustained trade growth.”
This “Team Australia” approach has proven successful across Asia, with previous activations in Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Japan, engaging over 1,200 trade and government representatives.
